Philippine Party-List System: Current Lessons and Implications for A Philippine Parliamentary System
The study will help assess the performance of the party-list representatives in terms of bills filed, their positioning on the issues and how they vote on the bills in the Congress. The study will also try to find how beneficial the party list system is to its touted constituency—the marginalized sectors of the society.

The party-list system is also a major consideration in the current national discussion regarding constitutional reforms, which centers on the possible shift to a unicameral parliamentary system from the present bicameral presidential system. The study then also seeks to explore various scenarios for the party-list system in the context of the possible shift to a unicameral parliamentary system. | back to top |
