DAY 1
Workshops
The workshop was conducted following the presentation
of reports on the five summit topics: Campaigns and Administrations,
Modernization, Citizen’s participation in Elections, Party-List
Elections, and Strengthening Political Parties and Campaign Finance.
Participants were divided into five groups, each average
from eight to nine members. Their discussions were based on a number
of guide questions formulated by the presentors: James Jimenez of
the Commission on Elections, Mr. Telibert Laoc of NAMFREL, Dr. Gus
Rodriguez of ECPG, IPD Executive Director Joel Rocamora, and Atty.
Chito Gascon of PRRM who were all present and served as resource
speakers during the workshop discussions. Each group was likewise
assigned a facilitator and several documentors, and as well as a
rapporteur chosen from the group.
