To our Friends from Media:
Is the May 2007 midterm poll fair, honest, peaceful
and credible political exercise?
This is the lingering question that Task Force
Bantay-Eleksyon ’07 will try to give light as it shares
its election monitoring experiences in its 2day Election
Monitoring Assessment Conference on July 34,
2007 from 9:00am to 5:00 pm, at the Humabon Room, Sulo
Hotel, Matalino St., Quezon City (near Philippine
Center).
Different election stakeholders under the Consortium on
Electoral Reforms including Bantay Eleksyon Area
Coordinators and volunteers and representatives of CER
network organizations will come together to present the
overall election observations on the conduct of the
recently concluded May 2007 midterm national and local
polls and to draft its plan of action for 2010.
Task Force Bantay-Eleksyon ’07 is a citizen election
monitoring project created by the Consortium on
Electoral Reforms (CER) which aims to comprehensively
observe the overall conduct of the May 2007 midterm
polls from the election preparation up to the
proclamation of winners and the filing of election
protests. It specifically tends to monitor the
performance of the Commission on Elections and its
deputized agencies in ensuring honest, fair, peaceful
and credible political exercise. We are inviting you to
cover this event from 9:00 am to 12 noon of July 3 when
a public forum will be held.
